NGO Principles for a nuclear waste directive
Since the European Commission started to discuss the directive on nuclear waste management (as part of the nuclear package) we thought about writing our own proposal for a directive. Because we are not used to the correct form of such legal documents, we decided to formulate in our words the principles which - from a ngo point of view - have to be considered in a directive for nuclear waste management.

In January 2005 we sent these principles to the ministers in charge of nuclear waste issues in 28 European states; In the covering letter we asked the ministers to discuss these principles with us and to consider our proposals in the next discussion about a nuclear waste directive on EU level.
